(SPRING 2021) Rain | Maggie Feinberg

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

Rain pounding down on the road

Windshield wipers thumping

back and forth

back and forth

Headlights blurring together in the distance,

cutting through the dark

Raindrops sliding down windows

Rain pounding down on the driveway

Puddles forming,

their surfaces covered in ripples

Water pattering on the metal roofs of the parked cars

Bushes shivering in the wind

Falling droplets illuminated in the path lights

Rain pounding down on the roof

Curling up in blankets,

cradling mugs of hot tea

Falling asleep to the soothing sound

of nature’s flowing tears
